The sellers I am working with today are a determined bunch. Many of them have made up their minds that they will have a higher quality of life even if outward circumstances force them to lower their standard of living. Rather than focusing on their losses, they have decided that less is more.
It is an interesting shift to watch. I have been in the real estate business for most of my adult life assisting hundreds of buyers and sellers and never have I seen such a rapid shift in the Central Texas homeowner philosophy and preferences. Some of my clients are facing some daunting changes and they are doing it with a ruggedness that inspires me and makes me proud to be an Austinite.
When a client has to make an unexpected change in their living circumstances, I help them rapidly evaluate their options. I specialize in transactions that close at the best possible price in the least amount of time. Most sellers want that, but I never presume to know a seller's goals. Listening comes first. Helping Austin home sellers find a soft landing and a sustainable housing for themselves following a job loss, divorce or other adverse circumstance is what I do best.
I also help buyers evaluate homes and neighborhoods for their ability to provide a sense of community, as well as a measure of privacy. As a resident of Austin and UT graduate, my roots in the community go back a number of years. For relaxation, I enjoy mountain biking at Walnut Creek Park, trail walking at Brushy Creek park, really anything outdoors.. My favorite get-away place is Big Bend National Park. I own property on both the north and south sides of town, and have lived as far south as Manchaca and as far north as Cedar Park.
